The Bok Hotel Grand World

The owner was helpful and recommended a driver, and there’s a mini mart next door. They speak some simple English, with Google Translate helping fill the gaps. Our family of four stayed three nights in a second-floor King Studio Suite. It was spacious, had a lift, and the kitchenette included cutlery, bowls, plates and an air fryer. The air conditioning cooled the room quickly. The location was handy but quiet, away from the noisy restaurants that play music at night. The beach, Vinbus T2 bus terminal and Bamboo Legend structure were about a 10-minute walk, and the free Venice show at Grand World’s Lake of Love was very close, at 9:30-10pm. WiFi was slow sometimes, and breakfast was basic, with five food choices and iced water but no coffee. We used the instant coffee sachet in the room. There were a few small ants, for example after we dropped food on the floor.

The photos make the room look good, but the actual space is extremely small. I also found cockroaches and a lizard in the room, which was worrying. The room hadn’t been cleaned properly, the kettle smelled awful, and the shower had no hot water. The air conditioning didn’t work either, and staff didn’t respond even after I contacted them several times. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The location worked well for us, with everything we wanted to do or visit within walking distance. It was quiet at night compared with the busy street behind. We stayed two days and one night, arriving late after a flight delay. The owner was only a call away and helped us check in, and when there was a drainage problem, they checked it right away. Still, cleanliness was a bit questionable: there were stains on the sheets and walls, and I saw a cockroach in the bathroom. The hot water wasn’t very hot either. Those are things that could be improved. Thank you.

I was very disappointed. The hotel was shabby and didn’t live up to the way it was represented, or to the usual Luxury Escapes standard in my experience. I think it’s unfortunate Luxury Escapes has it in their portfolio. We didn’t stay.
