They cancelled our reservation shortly before we were due to arrive and never explained why, despite our asking. That’s four customers lost. Luckily, there are better places to stay nearby at competitive prices.

The place showed as available on booking.com, but then they messaged to say there was no availability and asked me to cancel. If I’d cancelled myself, I wouldn’t have received a refund, so I didn’t. After a lot of phone calls and arguments with the hotel and hotels.com, I finally got my money back from hotels.com.

The beach ride in the golf cart was a real plus, and the staff were so helpful, especially the general manager, who was the only one who spoke English. The rooms and grounds were clean and pleasant, though the pool looked a little dirty, so we went to the beach instead. Breakfast could have been better, and finding good restaurants nearby was a challenge. Still, we had a great stay.

We had two excellent dinners at the resort’s Sea Pearl restaurant, one Vietnamese meal and one à la carte. Mr. DuyTo and the rest of the staff were professional, helpful, and lovely. The resort also gave us a free airport pickup and a free car ride to Sao beach, which was a wonderful trip. Our room was spacious, with a huge comfortable bed, although the shower pressure was sometimes weak. The gardens were beautifully landscaped and the pool was large. It rained for almost the whole time we were there in July, which was a shame. Still, for a resort like this, the price was great, and Sao beach is the most beautiful beach on Phu Quoc island.
