The rooftop pool needs proper upkeep. Sediment and debris on the bottom made it slippery, and the wall tiles and glass were clouded by water marks and limescale. I also saw a large rodent moving around the restaurant area beside the hotel. It vanished before I could photograph it, but I did take pictures of droppings on-site. I told reception right away and declined the next day's breakfast. The staff handled this professionally and refunded the unused breakfast for two, 100,000 VND, at checkout, which I appreciated. There were some real positives during my stay at Meria Hotel. The bed and fresh bedding were comfortable, with a subtle pleasant fabric softener smell. The bathroom had no bad odor, and its water pressure and hot water were among the best I've had on my month-long motorcycle trip across Vietnam. The air conditioning worked well, and the room had good ventilation from windows on two sides. At first glance it looked clean and well maintained, though I found stains and dirt near the bed edge in hidden areas. The reception staff were polite and friendly at check-in, but spoke limited English. No one helped with luggage, something to keep in mind if your bags are heavy. A couple of maintenance issues need attention. The bathroom mirror light was out. The hairdryer worked, but its heating coil overheated badly and could cause severe injury if it failed during use. That needs repair or replacement promptly. The TV remote had dead batteries at first; after I called, staff came within 10 minutes, replaced them, and got the smart TV working. International channels were convenient. I’m a long-term motorcycle traveler, and my stay was generally comfortable, but management should treat the safety and hygiene problems as urgent. I hope they arrange professional pest control, improve cleaning, and fix maintenance issues promptly so future guests can rest safely and comfortably.
