Umi House Quy Nhon

I had to spend the entire night at the station with no way back to the city. The area was flooded, and there were no taxis or hotels. There was no water, food, electricity, place to lie down, or proper restroom. It was freezing and pitch dark, mosquitoes were everywhere, and I spent the night listening to heavy rain, worried the floodwater might rise and put me in danger. This happened after the hotel front desk failed to tell me that my train to Ho Chi Minh City had been canceled. I had asked them to get me a ticket a day ahead and gave the staff member a 150,000 VND tip. With days of heavy rain, I repeatedly checked whether the train might be canceled. He told me to just go to the station, so I left two hours early. The station staff later showed me their chat with the hotel. The front desk had received the cancellation notice earlier that afternoon, seen it, and still didn't tell me. Even when I kept asking on the way, he gave no answer. Getting to the station was dangerous. A 10 km trip turned into more than 50 km because so many roads were flooded. The last 900 meters were underwater, and the taxi couldn't continue. I paid 1,500,000 VND, then had to wade with all my luggage through waist-high water. It was dark, raining hard, and I didn't know the area, so I even got lost. A local man tried taking me on his motorbike, but the water was too deep and it stopped before we had gone 100 meters. I paid him 500,000 VND to thank him. Near the station the water was chest-high. I finally made it there after a huge effort, soaked through with my bags and clothes wet, only to learn from station staff that the train was canceled. I've never written a negative hotel review before, and this was the worst travel experience I've had. All of it could have been avoided with one message from the hotel. The service was terrible and put my life at risk. I strongly warn other travelers not to stay here.

Vo went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, and helped arrange my train ticket and a taxi for a good price. The dorm was clean, roomy, and had its own balcony. The toilet and shower were clean and well stocked, and they provided a handful of amenities. There's a working elevator and a small pool on the main floor. The online photos matched what I saw. It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach, with lots of food places around. I highly recommend staying here if you're in Quy Nhon.

I stayed in the dorm for 2 days and really liked the atmosphere with everyone in the house. There's a small swimming pool, the staff are great, and the location is great too. I'd recommend it to people traveling to Quy Nhon.

A nice, new hotel with clean, modern, spacious rooms. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and it had all the amenities. The wifi could be better, and the pool feels pointless.
