Joy House

On our way to the waterfall, a young Vietnamese guy invited us to try a typical Vietnamese coffee. He's a friend of the family who runs the joy house sapa and is working to get his small business going. He took us to the backyard, where there's a stunning view across the valley and waterfall. It's peaceful, a lovely spot for a short break and a chance to enjoy the scenery. He has both arabica and robusta beans, freshly ground the coffee, and made us a light, delicious drip coffee. There's a small bath along the terrace on the way to the seating area, so don't be surprised by that. I'll attach a video. The rice field workers nearby were extremely friendly and welcoming, as was the young business owner. He was curious about our thoughts on how to establish his business, and I hope his ambition and hard work pay off. All the best, and thanks for the pleasure of being your very first customer. The location and views are incredible, and the place feels magical. Everyone was so kind and helped us with everything we needed. Breakfast is included and really tasty. You can also start a hike right from here, which we recommend.

There's no Wi-Fi, and the bed wasn't very comfortable. The blanket also wasn't enough for two people in the cold season, though the heater helped a lot on chilly nights. Still, the price is very affordable for the area, and the owners are responsive. They provide a delicious free breakfast, usually pancakes and fresh fruit, and there's a charming dining area overlooking the river. I spent three days at Joy House Sapa over a long weekend in late November. It's about 8 km from central Sapa, deep in a valley and hard to reach by car, so you'll need a motorbike rental or a car to get there. The river runs right beside the house, and you can hear the soothing water all day. It's a peaceful place away from crowded tourist spots, with beautiful scenery, and makes a nice spot for a relaxing two-day stay.

Being picked up by motorbike was the start of a memorable stay, and the hosts welcomed us warmly into their home. Over dinner, they shared stories about their lives and Sapa's rich cultural heritage, which made the experience feel authentic. The food was delicious and reflected the region's culinary traditions, from savory dishes through to dessert. We found the homestay comfortable, peaceful, and affordable, a great escape from the bustle of city life in a serene, picturesque setting. Our stay exceeded expectations, and we'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, relaxing, authentic time in Sapa.
