The room was only three stars for us because of the staff. They don't speak much English and didn't seem to care much. When we arrived, they barely acknowledged us, and we had to push quite hard to get something to eat. The portion was tiny when it finally came, though the food tasted good. The Homestay itself has a lot going for it: cute, small wood-lined rooms with what you need, a bed and some space to unpack, plus a terrace and a large open area. There's potential here, but don't count on a warm, friendly Homestay feel.

Upstairs, the balcony has really good views, and the rooms are cozy. The dinner from the menu tasted good, though the portions were small. Downstairs, the toilets weren't especially clean and there were bugs everywhere. The staff weren't very friendly when we arrived, but they were better the second day, and breakfast improved too. We got a couple of pancakes each with honey or bananas and condensed milk, and even coffee on day two.

We got invited to a family dinner and had a really good breakfast. A lovely homestay near Sapa, in ta van village.

A great spot, quiet and clean, with a good bed and a very hot shower. The food was nice and the family was warm.
