Sapa Capsule Hotel

The bed had quite a few stains and didn't seem to get cleaned properly. Otherwise, the bathroom was fairly clean and the hot shower was great. The capsules are a nice way to have your own little space without spending much, and the laundry was done completely overnight. Breakfast was fine, nothing special. On a clear day there are nice views from the rooftop and terrace.

I arrived around 9pm after messaging several times to ask if anyone would be at reception, but got no reply. The whole building was dark and without electricity, so I honestly thought it was abandoned. I called and shouted for help with no response. A friend who works as a travel agent eventually managed to reach them. The owner showed up on a motorbike and said they were no longer affiliated with Agoda, then asked me to cancel the booking I had already paid for. Since it was the day of the booking, I couldn't cancel it myself, but he kept insisting I pay him again in cash. I told him he would need to cancel it with Agoda, and he kept saying he'd do it once the electricity came back in an hour. He still wanted the cash. After arguing for 30 minutes, I said I would pay in cash after seeing the cancellation, and he finally let me go to my capsule. The power never came back that hour, despite his promise. Other reviews suggest the building may have been without electricity for months. There was no power the next morning either. The capsule was dirty, and there were no towels or other facilities. When I said I wanted to shower, he told me, “I hope you are okay with taking a cold shower.” The pillow was a piece of foam, the blankets had stains, and some capsules seemed to have crumbs left from food. I have no idea when the sheets, blankets, or pillows were last cleaned. I kept being lied to in what felt like an attempt to get more money. This was the worst experience I've ever had, and I've travelled to a lot of countries, mostly solo. This place felt abandoned. Do not book here.

The capsules were roomy and comfortable, with a cozy feel that made it easy to settle in. The staff were kind and made the place feel welcoming, and the food was delicious, better than I expected. I was thoroughly impressed with my stay at “The Capsule” hotel.

Breakfast was okay, but the coffee we ordered afterward was made in the microwave and cost 35k per person. The capsule itself had insects and spiders inside, and aside from the lock, nothing seemed to work. We booked the most expensive capsule, yet the room card failed just after check-in. When they replaced it and we turned on the light, the capsule was filthy, with hair and stains everywhere. We asked for a replacement, but the new sheets were nearly as dirty. Guests in the two capsules beside us said they'd had the same problem. There was just one toilet and two showers for 16 people. Everything was dirty, and we never saw anyone clean while we were there. The stay wasn't worth the savings, since you can book a nice hotel for almost the same price. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I don't understand how this place has so many good reviews.
