Lestar Hotel Sapa

We got to the hotel early after taking the train from Hanoi, and they let us check in at 9 a.m. The staff were friendly and able to communicate in English. We also liked our valley view room, which was a decent size with a big comfortable bed. The air conditioning worked very well, and the smart TV was a nice extra. Breakfast had a pretty extensive selection. The bathroom could be laid out better. There’s a glass shower door but nowhere to put soap or shampoo, so we had to leave them on the floor. There’s just one towel hook on the main bathroom door and no towel rack. The toilet is off center, too, and my left knee kept hitting the shower door, so I had to sit turned about 25 degrees to the right. Still, it’s a good place to stay in Sapa, and I’d recommend it.

The team at Lestar Hotel made our Sapa stay comfortable and memorable. Everyone was attentive and really friendly, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of food, sometimes more than we could finish. The hotel feels quite new, with nice decor and very clean rooms. Our room was cozy, the bed comfortable, and both the aircon and heater worked perfectly, which matters in cold Sapa. The shower had good pressure and reliably hot water. It’s also in a great spot, only a few minutes’ walk from the main area. Great value for money.

The staff kept being helpful right through my late check-out around 11 p.m. They carried my luggage to the van and made the process easy. When I arrived around 2 p.m., a male staff member took my bags inside, offered hot tea, and the front desk staff helped me right away. My room was spacious, clean, and looked new, and I found the staff especially polite. There’s a large lounge, plus a spa and bar, though my stay was too short to try either. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Fansipan, and Grab is available nearby. The walk back is uphill, a bit of exercise, haha. I also thought the view was beautiful, probably overlooking Sapa. It felt safe for a solo traveler, and the rooms are roomy enough for large groups. The area wasn’t too busy or crowded. I wanted to stay longer, but had to leave. Breakfast is offered for 150k VND; I skipped it to try food outside. I’d recommend staying here.

We left our luggage with the hotel on both check-in and check-out days. The location is handy, with most attractions within walking distance. We didn’t try the spa. Breakfast was great, with lots to choose from, and they’d ask if we wanted eggs, Pho, and so on. Communication could be tricky because some staff speak very little English, but otherwise things were really good. We first booked two nights in a spacious Deluxe Double with a mountain view. Fog hid most of the view until our departure day, but the room was definitely worth it. We extended by one night, but our original room was occupied, so we moved to a Superior Twin Room. I wouldn’t pick that room again. It felt damp as soon as we entered, and moisture was condensing on the room wall and in the bathroom.
