The omelet was very good, though breakfast had a limited selection. Everything was fresh, and the black coffee was strong, good, and endless. No cappuccino, though. Staff were friendly and helpful. We came for breakfast, which cost $150000 dong per person, and for that price I can’t complain.

This was our second trip to SaPa, and we stayed at a different hotel this time. Housekeeping was professional and prompt about cleaning the rooms. A few things the hotel could consider for the future, especially for Western visitors: keep a spare toilet roll in the room, add a bar area where guests can have a drink after arriving or after dinner, and review the breakfast menu because there was little to no choice for Western visitors. There were no teabags, so we couldn’t make tea. A safe in each room would be useful, and guests also need instructions for operating the TV.

I found the hotel really disappointing. The room was okay, but the beds were very uncomfortable. There was no shower screen, so water went all over the bathroom, and the main shower head didn’t work. The TV wasn’t working either. I called for help on two separate days and got nowhere. Breakfast had little to suit Western guests, and it was the worst selection I’ve come across at any hotel in the last 10 years of travelling. Safer to go outside for breakfast.

The place has an oddly grand, almost palace-like feel, but it was exceptionally moldy. I’d spend the extra $30 on a higher-end hotel.

We had a pleasant stay and would definitely recommend the place. The staff were kind and accommodating, and Ms Dung helped us a lot during breakfast.
