Heaven Gate Hotel O Quy Ho

You have to get around by golf cart because the different spots are quite far apart. It’s up the mountain beside Heaven's Gate, outside Sapa town, so you’ll need a taxi or bike to get there. There are plenty of photo setups, but most felt tacky to me, and the infinity lake was the best one, though it gets crowded. The swing was closed when we went, and I think the outdoor maze was closed too. There’s also a 12D theater with a short undersea video, but it smelled old and moldy. If you’re an adult, you might not get much enjoyment out of the place.

The hotel room across from the restaurant was spacious and comfortable, and it gave us a place to freshen up and rest for a few hours on our way back from Sapa Valley. We’d had lunch at the restaurant first. It was decent, though the meal was a very average dining experience. What stayed with us most was the gorgeous landscape around the hotel. The view is a real highlight, and we thought it might be even more beautiful in winter.

The staff were cooperative and the service friendly. The place is beautiful, with sweeping views of the SaPa mountains and rice fields.

There are lots of rides here, but I’m still wondering why it isn’t a tourist attraction.
