Forest Side eco lodge

On my recent solo motorbike trip, I felt welcome from the moment I arrived. The family runs a friendly place with clean rooms, tasty food and fresh, ripe fruit grown there. Chickens wander around the property, and the national park entrance is very close. The 6am boat trip was great, and the stay was very good value. I’d recommend it.

I first stayed here at the end of a motorbike trip last year, and I’m coming back at the start of one this year. The park is right nearby, and there’s plenty of information and activities to choose from. Rooms are simple and clean, and the food and drinks are good. The host family are so welcoming that they make you feel like one of their own. A homestay I’d call a must if you’re in the area.

The ferry to the park is just around the corner, so this is a handy base for visiting Cát Tiên nationalpark. The owner and his family make you feel at home, with fresh, tasty food and fruit from their garden. Chickens roam freely, and there’s room for children to play. Rooms face the river, where you can hear nature and animals, including monkeys, during the day and especially at night. I’d take the owner’s boat trip at 6am or 4 pm, for the chance to spot animals and enjoy the scenery. This peaceful spot and its lovely family are worth a stay of a few days. It’s in the middle of nature, so don’t expect luxury facilities.

The hotel is right beside the park entrance, and staying with Mr. Ba felt like being at home. The food and drinks were delicious, especially the hot coffee. I’d recommend taking Mr. Ba's boat tour if you visit cat tien national park.
