Gio Lao Eco Lodge - Hostel

The couple running the place are really friendly, and breakfast is simple but good: rice, eggs, and coffee. I stayed in a private room in the main cabin, with a great view. The bathroom is downstairs and the water is warm. It’s a quiet, relaxed spot among the tea plantation near the lake. Dinner is 120k vnd, which is handy since you’re away from the city, and the portions are huge. The food was great. They can also arrange a boat tour around the lake.

There isn’t a lot to do here, which is part of the appeal. You can wander around the tea hills, sit and relax, and reset your brain. Gió Lào Eco Lodge (Tea Island) is in working tea fields, so those tidy rows are the actual crop, not landscaping. I stayed one night and found it properly comfortable. There are private cabins and a dorm if you want to be sociable. The owner was around, very friendly, and cooked a solid dinner and breakfast. It felt more like being a guest than a customer.

A peaceful little retreat in a beautiful spot. There are no lockers or pool, but the owners are kind and trustworthy. Breakfast is basic, just egg and bread, and you can also have a nice dinner with everyone.

We camped here on a bicycle trip and had a lovely view plus shelter from the rain. The hosts were amazing, helpful, and kind. They offer food and rooms too, and the rooms look really nice. Worth the detour!
