The location is a real plus, just half a block from Back beach, with a dozen restaurants at the corner and a strong, warm ocean breeze. For a beach property, it’s very good value. The hotel itself feels dated, and the rooms are smaller and less comfortable than average, though they were nice, clean, and quiet. It was nearly empty midweek, so the complimentary breakfast was canceled because there weren't enough guests.

The 9th floor balconies connect, and from there you get a lovely beach view on one side and mountains on the other. That was a real treat, and I'd come back. The rooms were decent and clean, the beach is very close, and the staff were genuinely friendly and eager to please. I enjoyed the whole stay.

We were shown three rooms, and every one had dirty bed linen. The staff weren't helpful, so we eventually gave up and went to a better hotel. The parking area had no security, and the interior looked run down. I wouldn't rate it three stars, maybe two.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to friends. They don't allow payment for the accommodation by credit card, and it took them more than five minutes to find my ID.

The air conditioning and refrigerator both failed. My wife and I were sweating heavily, but the staff tried to insist the air con was working. The hotel is old and lousy, yet still charges a lot. Avoid it.
