Victory Hotel Vung Tau - New Wing

The staff were friendly, helpful, professional, and spoke great English. The lobby is spacious with lots of places to sit and wait, and the price seemed reasonable for a nice location in Vũng Tàu. You can cross the street to reach the beach, and Thang Tam tower, a newer place to check in, is nearby. The room was modern and very clean, with a big, soft bed. The bathroom was clean and large too, though the shower had no soap holder, which was annoying because bottles kept falling or had to be held. The hotel has a pool, small gym, ping pong, pool table, and a kids' playground, so it works well for families. The restaurant and service were good, but breakfast was simple Vietnamese food with limited choices. That's just my view, but you might want to eat out instead. Highly recommended.

The location was great, with an easy walk to the beach, but the service was terrible. We got only one pillow per person and were told there weren't any more when we asked. Later, the janitor happily brought us some. The room itself looked nice, though. The pool felt too small for the number of people using it. Breakfast was cold, dry, and miserable, with almost no flavor, even if the food was tender. If you eat there, bring your own seasoning. I also noticed cameras around the hotel, including one at the side, in each elevator, and throughout the hallways. I believe there are hidden cameras too. Staff seemed to be recorded as well, since most wore the exact same glasses.

They charged 3.4 million VND per night, which wasn't worth it. The bed was hard, the furniture was low grade, and the room felt like one star at most. Not luxury at all.

I spent a week on the 11th floor and barely slept. The bass from the club or bars opposite was so strong my windows shook, with loud Vietnam club music going until 4:30 every night. It was a terrible experience staying here.
