Lucky Star Ho Tram

I like the restaurant, but they couldn’t make an egg omelet for breakfast, even when I used my phone’s translator to explain. It’s a simple dish: green pepper, onion, tomato, and cheese. Instead, they brought me two fried eggs without any salt or pepper.

It’s a standard local hotel with basic rooms and amenities, and there’s nothing else especially memorable about it. The main beach at Ho Tram and local seafood restaurants are close by, so the location is convenient if you want to be near them. You can walk to the beach, and visiting the local seafood market is a good experience: buy seafood directly and have it cooked fresh on the spot for an excellent meal. There’s also a restaurant downstairs in the hotel.

The seafood restaurant at the hotel serves incredible dishes, and the room was clean and full of sunlight. The location is good, close to the beach. Breakfast, though, was chaotic and uncomfortable. The buffet room was narrow, crowded, and noisy, with kids running around.

The room was clean, with a double bed and a nice sea view, but I paid 1.5m a night (no VAT) and the stay turned into a bad choice. I couldn’t stand the poor soundproofing: a woman next door kept yelling at her child, who cried loudly, and it ruined my vacation. The Wi-Fi kept disconnecting, so I had to work using my hotspot. Parking was bad too. They moved our bike into a corner, and every time I had to shift other bikes myself to get it out. The service at reception was the worst I’ve had at a middle-range hotel. Staff were disrespectful, and a waiter wouldn’t even bother answering my question. We stayed two nights, and after the first one, we came back from lunch to find our card disabled. I had to call them to get it replaced. We saw an ad for a 199k lunch combo on their billboard and decided to try it. After we sat down, they ignored us for a while, then a waiter tossed the menu in front of us and walked away. I couldn’t find the combo on the menu, so I asked, and was told it wasn’t available and we’d have to pay for individual dishes. They also charged 10k for two wet tissues we hadn’t used. When I asked about it, the waitress pointed at a used tissue on the floor and assumed it was ours.
