We loved staying here for our honeymoon. It felt like a little botanic garden, with several pools, a restaurant and the lagoon where you could sit, stroll along the sandy shore or kayak. Breakfast was brought to our room every morning, simple but generous. The staff were lovely and treated the cats hanging around kindly too. We’d left another resort after seeing one of its staff treat a cat badly, so that mattered to us. It’s well located for getting around. Many guided tours will pick up or drop off here, though there’s a steep but short hill to walk up. We could reach lots of nearby places in 5-20 minutes on foot, or walk to a main road where buses run often. I’d recommend it to friends and family over the overpriced or cruddy options nearby.

We made Poppys On The Lagoon our base for two weeks of exploring Vanuatu, and I’m so glad we did. We left our big luggage in the room while taking shorter trips to Tanna and Santo. The staff looked after us so well. Breakfast came to our room every morning, and we had laundry done twice, with special care taken with every item. When we needed a taxi on Sunday evening, they found us a driver. I highly recommend Poppys, and hope we can stay there again.

The gardens were lovely, and the room had a nice layout. But the bathroom was unclean and the gas stove didn’t work. The food was expensive and not good, and the worst part was the staff attitudes. Some were okay, while others didn’t seem to want to be there and weren’t very helpful. Overall, it felt overvalued.
