Vila Backpackers

On my second trip to Vanuatu, I came across Vila Backpackers, now The Tree House. The staff were wonderful, the rooms clean, and I always had a good time. If you're after basic accommodation in Vanuatu, I can highly recommend The Tree house.

My colleague and I stayed eight nights and had a great time. The staff were so lovely and welcoming, and we really enjoyed having the big deck for breakfast and drinks in the afternoon or evening. The owner is making great improvements. I look forward to coming back and seeing the venue finished.

Jill deserves a special shoutout for making our trip extra special. All the staff were lovely, and the small pool, chess and dart boards, and fun karaoke night kept us entertained. We stayed a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. For a backpackers, it had everything you'd expect and more: new, tidy rooms and facilities with the basics, plus an outdoor deck and a bar we used a lot. It's convenient if you have a car, but shops and eateries are still within walking distance. We'd happily come back and recommend it to people visiting. Thank-you!

Jill, the manager, was incredibly friendly and helpful. I'd stay again. Vila backpackers is brand new, with clean, comfortable rooms that have air-conditioning and fans. Hot showers are available, and they provide shampoo and body wash. The Wi-Fi worked decently. It's just south of the main Port Villa hub, with good restaurants reachable on foot or by bus. There's also a little bar and café, where staff can make breakfast or snacks on request for an additional fee. Thanks so much!
