White Grass Ocean Resort

It was very quiet during our one week stay, with only 5 other groups or so. The snorkelling and diving stayed uncrowded, and White Grads gave us excellent service for exploring the volcano, jungle, local villages, and underwater beauty. The resort is great for relaxing while still giving you access to Tanna Island's wonders. The staff are lovely, the food is well prepared, and everyone is accommodating. The island is a great place for anyone keen to explore the volcano and amazing coral.

Great stay! David, the manager, is a legend. Mattie was a great dive instructor too, and made scuba and snorkelling really fun.

The best part was getting to the reef from the jetty and walking to the gorgeous blue holes for snorkelling. My room had a big, comfy bed, adequate facilities, and beautiful water views. The complimentary breakfast was great, with good variety and plenty available. Food was on the pricey side, especially dinner, though the quality was really good. The coffee machine was broken while I was there, but the plunger Tanna coffee was good enough. The bathrooms could use a spruce-up and deep clean, though everything was great overall. It was a lovely place and a welcome break from the treehouse I’d stayed in before. The price felt pretty high, and I expected a bit more luxury for what I paid.

The family bungalow worked perfectly for us, and we loved the ocean view from the common area while having meals. We booked the volcano and diving/snorkeling tour through the resort, and had a fantastic time. Many thanks to Jim/Chuck/Isaac for taking such good care of us and for the excellent boat trip. We’d come back!
