Excelsior Manor Guesthouse

We spent four nights here for the 3 day wine walk, and since we’d stayed before, it was lovely to be welcomed back by Kirsten, Michelle, and the always helpful James. Our rooms were comfortable, with toiletries, bathrobes, and a hairdryer provided. The tea and coffee tray was refreshed daily. The food was wonderful, and the cook and background staff took care of my gluten-free diet and Cathy’s vegetarian needs.

The walking and vineyard scenery were a real highlight, with routes that felt well paced and led past the river and charming estates. We also had wine tastings, visits to olive and lavender farms, and a picnic on a river barge. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and kept things relaxed and fun. At the Excelsior Manor Guesthouse, Kirsten and her team welcomed us like family. Breakfasts were generous, lunches came in lovely spots, and each night brought a three-course dinner paired with Excelsior wines. The hospitality and attention to detail were outstanding. We left with wonderful memories, new friends, and a deeper appreciation of the Robertson wine valley. A great blend of walking, food, wine, and warm hospitality.

Jaco guided us from stop to stop, relaxed and full of knowledge, while James kept our glasses filled in the evenings and made sure we had delicious meals. We’re here for the wine walk, and it’s been so well put together that I highly recommend it. If you have the time, this is a great way to explore the region’s wines.

The food was amazing, the rooms lovely, and everyone was so welcoming. James deserves a special thanks. We had a great time and hope to come back one day. We also met the farm owner, who showed us some owls, and we had a great chat. Keep up the good work!
