While we were asleep, someone got into the house and took a laptop, tablet, phone, and handbag containing personal belongings. There were no obvious signs of forced entry, which seemed strange. When we told the owner, they said the CCTV wasn’t working, something we hadn’t been told during booking. That meant there was no footage to help with the police investigation. We didn’t feel safe there, and the owner didn’t seem concerned about our safety. I wouldn’t recommend the house because of the security issues.

During our weekend stay on 24 March 2023, someone broke into the room where I was sleeping. Cash, a chain, and some clothes were taken from my purse and room. Only after it happened was I told this wasn’t the first break-in at the house. There was no camera footage because the camera wasn’t working. The owner wouldn’t take responsibility, and the property didn’t seem secure based on the linked photos. I was also uncomfortable that men could come onto the property without any notice.

My wife stayed over the weekend of 24 March 2023 and several of her belongings went missing. Luckily, she had slept in another room, or it could have been worse. The photos showed signs of forced entry. The owner only replaced the locks and offered no compensation, saying she had to claim through her own insurance. Security seemed poor, and the blame was pushed onto someone who was on holiday. When they arrived, they had to collect the keys from a nearby garage, with no introduction to the caretaker. This place doesn’t feel safe. People pay for a break, but here it feels like you pay to be robbed and then silenced. Why is it still open? Is @bnb waiting for something worse to happen?
