Mabula Game Lodge

The Lodge was absolutely stunning, one of the best holidays I’ve had. You’re advised not to walk outside because of the chance of running into wildlife, which was a first for me at a game lodge. The staff were super friendly and happy to chat as long as it didn’t interrupt their work. My one disappointment was the restaurant menu. I’d hoped for more traditional South African food.

Every part of our trip to Mabula lodge was wonderful. The room was lovely, the food was amazing, and the safaris were the highlight. Every staff member was superb, from the welcome when we arrived onward. We’re already thinking about booking another visit.

Game drives ran four times a day, lasting three to four hours, with a picnic and cocktail break. The drivers were professional, knowledgeable, and kept safety in mind. Job, our guide, knew so much. We got within about 8 to 10 feet of the animals, and they seemed so used to the jeeps they didn’t even blink. The lodge itself was an amazing, all-inclusive resort, with gorgeous authentic rooms, a beautiful pool, and big buffets at breakfast, lunch, and dinner with all kinds of choices. There were activities on and near the site too, like ATV rides in the bush and the Elephant sanctuary. The most amazing experience of my life! 😍

Ethan made our safaris at Mabula Lodge unforgettable. His knowledge of the wildlife and environment kept every drive interesting, and his sharp eye helped us spot so many wonderful animals. He was fun to be with too, mixing in jokes and fascinating facts, and his passion really came through. He went out of his way to make sure we had the best experience. Ethan is a credit to the Mabula team, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommended!
