Pebble Fountain Guesthouse

Pet owners, please be careful. My partner, C.Ward, and I checked into cottage 4 at this establishment on 12 December 2024. It was listed as Pet-Friendly. After unpacking, we let our Pug out to explore and go potty. My partner checked on her and found her sniffing around in the garden. Looking closer, we saw bread and pellets. I thought they could be rat poison, so I took a photo straight away and sent it to the owners, who live next door. One of them later knocked on our door. We explained our concern that it was rat poison and that our Pug might have eaten some. She confirmed it was rat poison and asked whether we'd like to move rooms. We'd travelled a long way, unpacked, and were tired, so we declined. We asked where the nearest emergency Vet was in case our Pug showed symptoms. They didn't offer any real help, only saying they thought this or that Vet might be open. Later, I checked whether the poison had been cleared away, since we were still in the unit. It was still there. We locked ourselves inside for the night and left at 5am the next morning. At 9am, I was so angry that I called the owner at the same number where we'd sent the Whats App photos. This owner said she knew nothing about what had happened and blamed the garden boy. If you run Pet-Friendly accommodation, surely you should make sure it's safe for animals. Nobody followed up to ask whether our Pug had survived. Luckily, she did. We've lost a dog to poisoning before, and we know how much they suffer. Pebble Fountain owners, shame on you. You don't deserve to run a B&B establishment.
