91 Loop is a brilliant place to experience Cape Town if you want a lively, very secure, social atmosphere. Customer care is unmatched, and the location is arguably the best in Cape Town, right near nightlife, restaurants, and cultural spots on Loop Street, Long Street, Wale Street, Strand Street, and more. The Side Bar is a great asset, with your choice of food and drinks and a chance to meet like-minded people from around the world. A few things to know if this is your first hostel stay: the private rooms are sleek and minimal, with a fantastic bed and a focus on sleeping comfort. There isn’t a private desk, so use the communal areas or café tables downstairs if you need to study or work on a laptop. You’ll also need to bring your own toiletries, including a toothbrush, toothpaste, and body soap. Highly recommended for social travelers.

There were guests from their 20s through their mid-60s in the mixed dorm I stayed in, and it was refreshing to see solo travelers in their 60s. This hostel can suit older people looking to save money in Cape Town, too. My dorm was clean and spacious, with its own attached bathroom, and the staff were amazing. Enoch and Lukhanyo were the two people most often at the desk to greet us. Many of the shops and restaurants I visited were walkable from the hostel. Breakfast was included and served in the restaurant attached on the main floor. I loved my stay and would come back if I’m ever in Cape Town again.

The location, friendly staff, regular cleaning, restaurant, and relaxed common areas make this one of the best backpackers I’ve stayed at, and great value too. Air conditioning in a few rooms would be the finishing touch :)

I felt safe here, and it’s close to all the amenities. The people were amazing, the staff welcoming, and the food, service, and pricing were all good. If you’re travelling solo and are fine sharing space, this is definitely a place to book. ❤️

The reception team were really friendly and efficient. I stayed in a tidy, clean studio with a modern en-suite bathroom, and breakfast was delicious: a salami and cheese croissant with coffee.
