A Boat House

Host Amanda and Walter made us feel welcome with their warm, homey hospitality. The rooms are gorgeous, and I loved the facilities and breakfast. I’ve never had a bed and breakfast experience like this.

The team deserves a huge well done. They’re attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and they know how to make guests feel cared for from the moment they arrive. I’ve travelled extensively for 25 years and worked in luxury travel, and it’s hard to think of a place that comes so close to perfect. The location is superb, the breakfast is sensational, and the room touches, layout, views, and facilities all work so well. The hosts have a lifetime of experience making people feel welcome. Breakfast was delicious, with a good choice on the menu. It’s served to you rather than laid out buffet style. The hosts were very friendly and suggested some good places to visit. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the facilities were good. There’s an indoor pool, though it was a bit dirty, plus a pool table. It was really windy the day we arrived, but it was fine once we were indoors.

The staff serving breakfast even sang Happy Birthday, and we felt so spoiled. We had a lovely week at A Boat House Simon’s Town, with comfortable, tastefully decorated rooms, a great view, and an indoor pool. Above all, the friendly hosts made us feel completely at home.
