Auberge Cape

The Penthouse Suite was spacious and beautifully designed, with breathtaking views that made our five-night stay memorable. Elana and Chantel made us feel at home with their warmth and genuine care. They were always willing to help, and their personal touches made us feel like part of the family. We left with wonderful memories and can't wait to come back. Auberge Cape Town Guest House gave us the comfort, views, and attentive service we were hoping for.

The apartment was very spacious, the largest of all, and had a big terrace with a beautiful view. In Camps Bay, though, a view like that is quite common. The ladies working there were friendly and helpful. The condition of the place was disappointing. The interior looked much more dated in person than in the photos and needs a major renovation. The wooden terrace and outdoor furniture were dirty and badly worn. The sun loungers and garden furniture were practically falling apart. The bathrobes and slippers also seemed used, and the slippers had visible dirty footprints. It felt like the owner cared more about revenue than maintenance. Getting up the very steep driveway was a real problem. Our automatic rental car couldn't manage the slope, and even the staff tried and failed. You have to walk up an incline of over 20%, which might be a workout but isn't practical for most people. Breakfast was another letdown. Everyone had to sit at one table with eight chairs, which wasn't really our thing but was okay. We also had to choose breakfast at check-in. We picked yogurt with fruit and muesli, but it was underwhelming. At €250 per person per night, we expected much better, especially in Cape Town and the surrounding area. The price seems to be driven by the apartment's size, which was its only real advantage. Despite the friendly staff, I wouldn't recommend booking here.
