Bella Montagna

Sitting outside in the quiet and looking at the mountains was my favourite part. The house is both comfortable and luxurious, and it felt like being at home. Bella Montagna was a great pick for my few days in Cape Town. I’ll be back.

The home itself was beautiful, but the deposit problem after checkout turned into a complete nightmare. I checked out on August 5, 2025, and as of April 2026, nearly nine months later, I still had no refund. The host said a card refund wasn’t possible and asked for my banking details. I sent them, then heard nothing for days. They asked me to send the same details again, acknowledged getting them, promised to process the refund, and then disappeared again. There were also promises to pay by the end of the day, but no refund ever came through. Trying to get help from Booking.com made things worse. I called more than seven times, and each time I was told to wait while the host got more time. When I asked for a supervisor, I was left on hold until the call dropped. They later called me back from an international number, which cost me phone charges for a call I hadn’t requested. They then closed my case as resolved, even though it wasn’t. If anything goes wrong after your stay, don’t count on the host or Booking.com to put it right. Keep records from the start and be ready to fight to get your money back.
