Emafweni

We had a lovely family break in this scenic spot, with nice walking and hiking trails nearby. The house was tidy and had clean towels, hot water, a fireplace, spare bedding and tea and coffee. It's self-catering, and if you want maid service you'll need to arrange that with the caretaker. Shops are a drive away. There are a few DStv channels for rainy days.

Coming back to the Emafweni main house after outings was the best part of our short stay. I wish we'd had time to hike in the mountains, but we were only there from December 28 to the 30th. The house is in the heart of drakensburg, close to activities and a relaxed way of life, and there's a supermarket nearby. The plot and views are stunning, a real nature retreat. Wayne was an incredible host, warm when we arrived and throughout the holiday. The rooms were cleaner and more inviting than I expected. I'd seen some negative reviews beforehand, but once I arrived, those concerns faded. I only regret not having more time to explore the mountains. Well done, Wayne and team, and thanks for a great stay.

We spent four nights in the Main House. It was spacious and comfortable, with a stunning setting and outlook. For the price, the value was hard to beat.

A great place for anyone who loves nature, with an amazing variety of wildflowers around the resort. The views of the cowl monks and cathedral peaks are fantastic, and both accommodations are fully self-catering. There are plenty of nearby activities too. One of the most beautiful places I've visited.
