Cottage Pie

Cottage Pie is great for a work-from-home getaway too, with a desk area and very stable Wi-Fi. The units are serviced daily, and walking paths are easy to reach. From the stoep, you can enjoy the calm streams and mountain view. The family unit is comfortable throughout, the kitchen has all the utensils we needed, and the beds are luxurious. There are plenty of books to choose from as well. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it as a top place to stay in Clarens if you're after a rest.

Cottage Pie is close to both the town and the nature hiking trail, so we could walk to either. The cottage was clean, neat and very comfortable, with a lovely connection to nature. I'd definitely book again. Well worth a stay.

Quiet and lovely, with walking trails nearby. Having the first coffee of the day while listening to the flowing water and soft birdsong was incredible. The whole place feels serene.

The Conservancy is right outside the front door, and we spent plenty of time hiking, swimming in Kloof Dam, then hiking some more. Being in the middle of the dam with sandstone mountains all around was an amazing feeling. Town is only a few hundred metres away, an easy walk. Our dogs enjoyed their stay too, though they repeatedly escaped from the Family Unit because the river along one border was exciting to them rather than a boundary. The Bedsitter is fully fenced. We were a family group in the four-bed Family Unit with dogs, the Bedsitter with more dogs, and Upstairs under Thatch with no dogs. It worked well for us. The cottage is beautifully decorated and well equipped, with a garden that feels like a forest. A surprise of sherry in etched glasses like my grandmother's was lovely.
