At Andaluz Boutique Hotel, the calm atmosphere and caring staff made my Durban visit especially comfortable. Everyone was friendly, attentive and professional. My room was cozy and well maintained, and breakfast was delicious, with plenty of well-prepared choices. I had a seamless stay and would recommend this hidden gem to anyone visiting Durban.

For a Durban stay, I'd highly recommend Andaluz.

I was very disappointed by this stay, and it wasn't worth the money. At check-in, staff didn't know about the outstanding balance. The room design felt poorly thought out: there's no phone, and they expect you to use WhatsApp to communicate. There was no toilet paper holder, so the roll had to sit on the floor. The cupboards were broken, the hangers odd, the chairs had strange stains, and there was no safe for valuables. If you ask to borrow a hairdryer, they only have one. They don't check whether there's enough soap or toilet paper, and the towels were replaced while still damp. Hygiene was a real problem. There was pee on the toilet seat, so I had to call someone to clean it before I could use the bathroom. The teaspoons were sticky with coffee left from the previous guest. This has been my worst stay. Be warned if you pay for breakfast with your stay. The buffet is only available Saturday and Sunday. On weekdays, you have to choose a single meal, such as an English breakfast or scrambled egg on toast, and I didn't think it was worth the price. Breakfast quality varied from day to day, and even a latte that wasn't on the list cost extra despite the breakfast fee. Maybe this was just my experience, so good luck to anyone else who tries it. I'd sooner come for breakfast on a weekend.
