Copper Kettle (The)

Breakfast was adequate, and the room service was good. The WiFi didn’t work, though, and the password they gave us was wrong. Some door handles were also difficult to use and should be fixed. It wasn’t a bad stay, but there’s room for improvement.

After our booking for two rooms had been paid for and guaranteed, the owner cancelled it because a block booking hadn’t been removed online. When I raised the issue, she offered us one room with two single beds in lower-standard accommodation, which wasn’t suitable in place of the two separate rooms we had booked. This was the busiest, fully booked weekend, and she said, “As far as I'm concerned, I'm off the hook.” That’s simply an unethical way to run a business.

The stylish decor and the warm, homey atmosphere made this stay in Fouriesburg one of our most memorable. We loved the friendly people, too. What a lovely surprise to find this little gem, especially at such good value. We’ll definitely be back!

A lovely little place in a small town. Handy for a quick trip from Joburg to Lesotho if you’d rather not stay overnight in Lesotho.
