The detail that really made Rainbow Residence for us was Monika, who manages the apartment. She has a fantastic eye for the little things, is always available, knows Franschhoek well after 46 years there, and was the perfect hostess. Nina, the owner, has put her heart into creating a place that makes you say “Wow!” as you walk in. The apartment was equipped with high-end everything, from the kitchen and bathroom to the gloriously comfortable beds. Nothing had been overlooked. I've visited 126 countries and lived in 15, so I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly, and can perhaps speak with some credibility. With so many places to stay in Franschhoek, choosing can be confusing, so let me save you the trouble: book Rainbow Residence. We truly didn't want to leave. The word is out, so don't delay.

The owner welcomed us warmly and spoiled us with gifts. Our apartment at RR was roomy and spotless, and after three nights we could easily have stayed for three weeks. We truly recommend the place.

The apartment had everything we needed, with lots of thoughtful, caring touches, and the owner is a wonderful woman who has considered every detail and cares incredibly well for her guests. The design and atmosphere were perfect, the window looked out onto a beautiful view, and there was guarded parking.

The mountain views were incredible, and it was an easy walk into town, with a convenience store right next door. The host was lovely and made us feel welcome. The place was beautifully decorated and super cosy. A really lovely stay, highly recommended.

After a day of wine tasting, this was a serene, lovely place to return to. We stayed in unit 27, where the decor was beautiful, the beds were so soft, and the balcony view over breakfast was amazing.
