Picking strawberries was the highlight for me. You can choose either of two punnet sizes, and I was surprised how many fit in the small one. They were fresher and cheaper than what I find at food chainstores. Kids can also climb the giant Strawberry, and Redberry Farm has loads to keep the whole family busy. There are playgrounds and activities for little ones, a family restaurant with good food and friendly, constantly busy waitstaff, and live music on weekends. The huge scones with cream are a must. During tourist season it gets crowded, so expect to wait and queue. I haven’t tried them, but there are other restaurants and wine or liquor sampling bars for people who want those. The shop by the main restaurant is full of jams, snacks, pickles, sweets, savouries, curios and gifts. Bring a card, because it’s hard to resist buying a few things. Definitely worth a visit for locals and tourists.

Even outside strawberry season, this place is worth visiting for lunch and a walk. The food was delicious, the deli was great, and the staff were helpful and well trained. The gardens are beautiful, and the whole property was in the best condition I’ve seen in a long time. I’d highly recommend it.

We found plenty to do across the farm, from activities for kids and adults to restaurants and shops, and ended up staying from 9am until 4pm. Locals get very affordable prices, which was great to see. If you want all seven stamps in the maze, it’s challenging and takes about 1-2h. Umbrellas were available to rent at the farm store for R20 plus a R100 deposit, handy for either rain or strong sun. Even if you only do one activity or eat at one restaurant, I’d recommend a visit.

Redberry Farm is a lovely place to spend a relaxed day, whether you’re there for the views, a meal, or to explore. The gardens are immaculate, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the staff made us feel welcome. The strawberries were so fresh and tasty, and picking our own was a lot of fun. There’s plenty for kids, including the miniature train, maze and playground. We also enjoyed the good quality food and generous portions at the restaurants and coffee shops. A great outing for locals and visitors.

We had the scones with fresh cream and strawberry jam in the tea garden, and they were amazing. There’s also a lovely market selling locally made goods, and the farm has lots of activities for adults and kids. It’s beautifully managed, but the wait for a table was incredibly long, and some of the food took over an hour to arrive. I’d definitely go back when it’s less busy.
