Vincent Valley Lodge

Whenever I’m in East London for work, this is the place I choose. It’s in a good suburb, the rooms are excellent, and the staff are accommodating and provide great service.

The facilities are nice, but the staff made the whole stay horrible. They were hostile and seemed to make up rules depending on their moods. There’s a curfew, and they put beams on after a certain time so we couldn’t go anywhere. I felt held hostage over when we could arrive and leave. Booking here feels like a waste of money.

I booked two nights back in February and explained why we were coming. I even spoke with the manager on the phone, but there was no privacy and no written set of rules. They kept changing things as they pleased, and the beams were on while guests were there, with a curfew too. The staff still have a lot to learn about treating guests of any age like guests. I couldn’t put my angels through any more of it, so we checked out after one night, though I had booked two and paid for one. I’ll never set foot there again, and neither will my family.

The spotless rooms and lovely decking made Vincent lodge feel like a home away from home. We also loved the pool on a hot sunny day. Breakfast was great, and the staff went out of their way to please us. The whole stay was perfect. We’ll definitely come back.
