The place was okay, but cleanliness wasn't great. From my experience, if you want a dust-free, spotless room, I'd rate this place around 4/10.

The wifi was good, and Bru Bar is an easy walk from the room. That's about the only redeeming part of this stay. The rooms are so close together I could hear the guy next door's heartbeat. The woman in charge is probably doing her best, but the lack of attention to detail is astounding. The towel rack was coming off the wall, paint was peeling, the electrics were in shambles, and there was mould on the ceiling. I suspect the linen is washed and hung where people take smoke breaks. In my bathroom, the extractor fan probably died in 1994. If the exposed light fitting above the showerhead doesn't fall on you and electrocute you, you might die from black lung instead. Ever wanted to murder yourself but leave a clean corpse? Book into Cherry Place Guest House and die in style. WHABAM!

We were hosted at Cherry place twice for training, and the service was very good. The staff are friendly, and the food at Bru Bar is superb. I'll definitely visit again.

I drove all the way from Cape Town, only to find out I had no room. My booking was messed up.
