Whale Coast All-Suite-Hotel

The apartment was clean when we arrived and had daily service, which we appreciated. Getting there was easy too: Marius Butler was excellent and helpful while we booked, and Paul helped us on arrival. He did offer a bottle of wine for the inconvenience, but it never arrived. The location near shops and the Marina restaurants is handy, but our unit faced the parking lot. I’d ask for one that looks elsewhere. The bigger issue was the air conditioning. The website suggested the whole apartment had it, when there was only an AC in the main bedroom, none in the other bedrooms or living room, and no ceiling fans. Paul arranged two fans for the other bedrooms, but the kids and my daughter still had trouble sleeping, and we struggled in the living area. That description should make clear the apartment doesn’t have AC throughout. There were five of us, but only four dining chairs. They were in terrible shape, held together with glue, and one broke apart under my husband one morning. We asked for replacements and got the exact same chairs, which was worrying. The air fryer had been replaced but its instructions still covered the old model. The oven and hob controls had no markings left, so we couldn’t tell what temperature the oven was set to. The fridge door holders were broken and need replacing. There’s no washing machine or tumble dryer, and we couldn’t find instructions for the TV. The listing calls this the luxury of a fully serviced hotel with a self-catering apartment. We found it neither luxurious nor fully serviced, and would rate it 2.5 stars at best, despite the four-star rating.
