Hearing a lion roar so close to the tent, with deer wandering outside, was amazing. Vussi was a knowledgeable guide, and the early starts were worth it for the safaris. We saw lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, wildebeest, rhinos, hippos, vultures, giraffes, hyenas, mongoose, spiders, baboons and plenty more. The group I travelled with was lovely too, and we all got along and had a great time. The food and accommodation at Camp Bethel were fantastic, and the whole team made us feel welcome. I’ll definitely come back. Please consider staying at Camp Bethel instead of the luxury lodges.

The meals were delicious every time, and the staff took care of everything we needed. We spent six nights on safari and had the most amazing experience. The camp is lovely, and the tents are just right. 10/10!

Hearing lions roar from bed in our tent was something else. We had a wonderful first visit to South Africa. The tent was spacious enough for three of us, including my son, and always clean with fresh water. The team at Camp Bethel left us night stories and chocolate, such a nice touch. They were friendly, caring, and knowledgeable, always ready to help with a smile. The rainy-season weather was great too. Lorraine, chef Gibs, and Joel were especially thoughtful about my son, whether they were preparing dinner or heading out early for tours. We felt very well looked after and wouldn’t hesitate to trust the team with a stay here. One practical tip: bring a torch. There can be power cuts, and although they have a generator, a torch can help on the walk back to your tent. Thanks, Camp Bethel, for a great time.

Tembi and the staff were such a fun, helpful, friendly team, and made our stay special. Our tent was incredibly comfortable, right in the African bush, with wild animals all around the camp and their sounds as the only noise. I really can’t fault Camp Bethel. If you’re unsure about going, I hope this helps. I’ll be back. Thank you!

The staff were lovely and very attentive, and we had a fantastic time. The tents are perfectly adequate, though you can tell their age and they’re looking a little tired. I’d still happily recommend staying here.
