Sunset Lodge & Safaris

We saw Buffalo, Giraffe, and Waterbuck wandering within kilometers of us during meals, and the food was amazing, with plenty of variety and choice each day. We did all the excursions on offer and would suggest each one, since they all have something different to offer. The pool was chilly, but after I got in it felt refreshing. I also used the workout room, since running around the grounds isn't recommended with unknowns among the wild animals there. Jeff and Vincent, the Lodge owners, met us at Hoedspruit airport and gave us such a warm welcome. The self serving honor system was easy to understand, and our beautiful King room #4 was just right. Toni loaned us an adapter plug when ours wasn't the right one. Vincent was so knowledgeable on the sun down drives and bush walks, and Andrew and Toni added so much to the daily service and hospitality. Everyone helped make the customer service experience amazing. The meals with the animals nearby made it all special. It was the best customer service experience I've had in a long time. Thank you, Toni, Vincent and Jeff!

We spent 14 days at The Sunset lodge and loved it. The owners are friendly, very nice and helpful with everything. The lodge sits right in the bush, so wild animals walk around each day. Breakfast and dinner were perfect every day. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Sunset Safari Lodge in Guernsey was a peaceful and comfortable place to stay, surrounded by nature and ideal for unwinding. Toni and Vincent were fantastic hosts, sharing helpful tips and local knowledge and making sure we were comfortable throughout. Their kindness and personal touches meant a lot. Highly recommended!

We went without a car, and they kindly arranged our airport collection and drop-off, as well as activities included in the package. Booking a package seems a good idea so the team can organise the best timings at the best prices. The location was great, the staff were “sharp sharp,” and the food was excellent. Zebras, wildebeest, kudu and more came to breakfast and dinner by the fire. My partner and I were the only guests there at the end of the rainy season, but Vincent and Toni kept us busy with activities, conversation, their knowledge and lots of fun. Those 5 days at sunset felt like a visit with two uncles from another continent. We’ll be back to catch a leopard next time!
