The Baobab Bush Lodge

The room wasn't what I expected from the photos, it was small. We weren't told that bringing our own food and drinks wasn't allowed. When we tried to order from the lodge, there wasn't much variety, and they offered the same meal for lunch. Dinner was overpriced for what we got. The starters weren't fresh, the garlic bread wasn't fresh either, and we ordered a well done steak but got medium rare. The dessert wasn't nice, and the custard had lumps. A total waste of money. The owner should try to be friendlier to guests.

It's a great place in the bush, with nice drives around the estate and animals to see. The unit was clean and well looked after, but I was disappointed when I went to prepare a braai and found there wasn't one, just a boma. The unit is meant for up to six people, but there was only one teaspoon and no blankets. The list goes on. They should check the kitchen utensils properly, replace the missing things, and add a few more items.

We really enjoyed our time at Baobab Bush Lodge. The owners have done their own overland trips and were happy to swap stories about their adventures. There are several high quality activities on offer, plus massages and spa treatments. It’s a lovely, quiet spot in a private reserve, just right for unwinding for a few days on an overland trip.

Kirsten and Edwin were so welcoming and accommodating. They arranged safaris with packed breakfasts, a hot air balloon trip, and massages for us. Our room had everything we needed, including air conditioning and tea and coffee facilities, and it was clean. We also loved cooling off in the pool and having an outdoor shower. We had a great stay at Baobab and would happily come back.
