The host and manager were attentive and really friendly, which made an already comfortable stay even better. We booked the family unit at Melville Gap Guest House for a one-night weekend stopover. It was roomy, spotless, and much more stylish than I expected for a guest house, with great value for the price. The bed and bedding were cosy, and the place felt quiet and secure. There was a huge bathroom with excellent hot water, plus air conditioning, a Nespresso machine, a gas kettle and an electric one, and plenty of outlets for charging devices. I’d happily recommend Melville Gap Guest House to families, business travellers, or anyone just passing through.

James is such a great host, and honestly, that’s why we came back for a second stay. Our first visit had excellent service, and he made us feel comfortable again, helping with everything. I still remember struggling with the car as a new driver, and James jumped in to help. You’re a star!

Melville has a great vibe, good sports and top clubs. It’s a really good place, but watch out around closing time, when shops are shutting. Some Yeoville guys are said to take people’s phones, sometimes using an A3 Audi, or white Toyota Etios cars that may be Ubers or Bolts. Security isn’t tight in that area, unlike places such as Bramfantein, where the bad boys are said to be kept in check. Nobody tries anything there because security is so strong.

The room was tidy, and I enjoyed the art pieces. The gentleman who welcomed us was so helpful and friendly. It made for a pleasant stay 🤗

That bed was so comfortable, I slept like a king 👑. The staff were great too, and breakfast was delightful. Loved it.
