Modern Apartment in Rosebank

I couldn't leave a review on booking.com, where I originally booked, so I'm sharing my experience here. The location is excellent, literally a minute's walk from Rosebank mall, and the pictures on booking.com looked nice. I had messaged ahead to request an earlier date because I was flying to SA a few days before my original date, and also asked for early check-in. That wasn't granted, but I didn't mind. When I arrived with my family, I found the apartment very disappointing. I sent the owners this message: “The location is perfect, but the apartment smells bad, as if it hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. The carpets look dirty and stained, the towels are worn out, and the other bedroom smells like sweat, as though someone had just got out of the bed. The pots are greasy, so we can't cook in them, and there are flies in the cupboard with the cleaning supplies. We expected high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, especially because we have an infant who crawls and is vulnerable to infections. This is something we can't compromise on. Because of this, and the no-refund policy, we'll have to stay elsewhere. I'm sorry, but we can't stay here with a baby.” I didn't stay there and lost around R6000. I had also paid a R2000 security deposit, but only got R800 back despite never staying. Instead of making any concessions, the owners defended the place. It was the lowest point of my trip to South Africa.

A top-level place with beautiful views. Shopping and boujee nightlife are both within walking distance, and the experience was amazing.

The views go all the way around, and you can walk to Woolworths, Spar, Checkers and Pick n Pay, as well as dozens of great restaurants and the Gautrain. You could sell your car here! What a location. I can't wait to move in. Well done Renprop!

Right on the mall's doorstep, with a central location that's safe and incredibly convenient. The building is well maintained and makes for a comfortable, modern home in Joburg. Highly recommend it.
