The place is beautifully decorated, but it was a nightmare of a stay and is badly managed. My daughter and I arrived on 18 Sep 25. A friendly security guard, who seemed to be running the front desk, told us there was a power problem. Nobody updated us about the outage later that day. By day two, the water was already cold, and we couldn’t use the stove, fridge, or TV. I asked Desiree, the manager, to help us charge our phones and laptop and dry our hair, but got no response. We sat in a quiet room without the service that had been promised. On day three, the water was even colder, and management still hadn’t communicated. I’m very unhappy and frustrated with Desiree, who ignored me. We’re from another province and didn’t know the area, and we were treated so badly. Think twice before booking at Radstone Illovo Mews. I want compensation for the service that wasn’t delivered as promised, and I’m still waiting for your call, Desiree. I won’t stay there again. Next time, make clients a priority and look after the security staff at Oxford Street, who were the only ones showing empathy and going above and beyond their duties.

The flat was newly renovated and very clean, with Wi-Fi, complimentary tea and coffee, an iron, and a few other useful things. I booked Stay on Oxford because it was conveniently close to the Wanderers, where I needed to be, and otherwise it served its purpose. It was extremely cold inside, though, and the small heater didn’t do much. The stove didn’t work, and there were no dishcloths. There’s a washing machine, but nowhere to hang clothes in the flat, and I wouldn’t use the roof to dry them, especially if it rains. There were no real towel hooks in the bathroom either, and they were stingy with toilet paper. Plug adaptors would have been handy too.

The apartments are really nice, and security is rigorous. It’s close to the main road, with easy access to Rosebank, Sandton, and Johannesburg. You’d enjoy staying here.

The security guards were the one good part of my stay. The place is beautiful, but I had an awful time there and wouldn’t recommend it. I stayed for two nights and three days, and there was no electricity the entire time. We had cold showers and couldn’t do anything in the room. Management never showed up or interacted with us, and there was no communication about the problems. They weren’t prepared for power outages and wouldn’t even let us charge our phones. Just terrible.
