The open bar downstairs was fully stocked, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The host was so helpful and welcoming, with a wonderful, easygoing free spirit. Her hostessing skills are off the charts! :) Our room had crisp white linen and simple, classy decor, with a balcony looking out over Auckland Park, its greenery, and the skyline. The bathrobes in the en-suite bathroom were a lovely finishing touch. It was an utterly amazing stay, worth every cent, and we’ve already decided to come back for Valentine’s Day. It’s a beautiful little place tucked away in Auckland Park, and honestly, it didn’t even feel like we were in the city. We’d definitely recommend it.

We booked the Dining Room to celebrate two friends who turned 40 this year, and it was quite an experience. The food was delicious, with Elzabe and the Mamas putting love into every course. The city views and atmosphere in the Dining Room were the cherry on top. It’s a unique meal that’s hard to forget, and Elzabe’s passion and attention to detail show throughout the place.

The food melted in our mouths, and Mama Aggy really is an amazing cook. Elzabie and her wonderful team made us feel so welcome. It felt like a home away from home, with magnificent views of Johannesburg. We’ll definitely come for one of their Sunday lunches.

The menu was delicious and catered to our dietary requirements. The owner was warm and friendly, and had great stories and advice for tourists. Zietsies has a lovely private dining space, an eclectic atmosphere, and an amazing view. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try for lunch or dinner.

The breakfasts are superb, and the views from the dining area and my room were spectacular, looking out over the hills. I can’t speak for the other rooms. Zietsies Guest House is a comfortable, relaxing inn away from downtown’s hustle and bustle. The rooms are clean and have nice touches, including French press coffee and little baked goods.
