For R559.95, I expected better than torn towels and no tissue. Even the rooms at R445 shouldn’t have old towels like those. You can do better. With the number of people staying there, the WiFi connection should be improved too.

There’s safe parking, the premises are well maintained, and the rooms are neat. The staff are friendly and helpful, and Ecotel Lodge offers good value for money. Since it’s open 24/7, it works well for an overnight stay or business trip. It’s also conveniently close to Emperors Palace, the Emperors Convention Centre, and OR Tambo International Airport.

I spent the whole week in a room with a rat. Disgusting. They moved me to a much cheaper room and didn’t refund me the difference. Book here if you want to share a room with vermin!!!

It was quite acceptable. The signal reached everywhere, but the WiFi only worked near reception. I hope they eventually get it working throughout the place.

The service and stay were lovely, but my sleep was disrupted. The mattress was uncomfortably hard, and the corridor light could be switched off once everyone has checked in. At night, guests sometimes sing in the passage, so perhaps signs could remind them that others are sleeping. For rooms facing the main road, such as room 19, the gate opening and closing often is disruptive. A smoother, quieter motor could help. The stay was nice, but these interruptions defeat the purpose of checking in.
