Gill and Craig made us feel very welcome. They’re such friendly, hospitable hosts. We also found the staff exceptionally kind and attentive, and the beds were comfortable. Everything was clean, and breakfast was great. The dining lounge has an antique piano and lovely South African art on the walls. From its bright interior, you can look across the lagoon toward The Knysna Heads, and the view is spectacular in any weather. Definitely deserves five stars!

A quiet, elegant little gem that had everything I needed for the weekend. The setting was just right for our immediate needs, and the views were breathtaking. I’m sincerely grateful to our hosts Jill and Craig for their hospitality and for the thoughtful conversations. Staying in such a prime location was well worth it.

The view was amazing, and the service was world class. This is one of the best places I’ve stayed, and I’d definitely recommend it as a must for Knysna accommodation. A big thank you to the establishment and owner for going out of their way to meet our needs while we were on holiday.

We came all the way from Texas and spent five nights at the Phoenix Lodge for a wedding there. The lagoon view was beautiful, and the lodge was a wonderful place to stay. Gill and Craig were gracious, kind hosts, and the hotel staff were just as sweet and took great care of us. Shops and cafes at the waterfront, as well as the Knysna Heads, are only a short drive away.
