A good place to stay just outside the park, very close to the entrance. It feels a little forgotten, but there’s plenty of space and the service was friendly. Prices are much better than inside the park. Each campsite has electricity and enough room for privacy, and there’s a pool to enjoy too.

The card facilities didn’t work, and there was no WiFi in either the self-catering unit or the main reception. The kitchen was dirty and poorly equipped, with no kettle for hot water. The second bedroom’s air conditioning couldn’t cool properly, and the mattresses were well past their prime. There was water damage, and the kitchen light wasn’t working and was filled with filthy water. It was clear the staff hadn’t checked or prepared the unit for visitors. Even the fridge wasn’t switched on.

The receptionist was the only person we could speak to, and while he tried to help, we had to come up with all the solutions ourselves. The floors, walls, cutlery, and crockery were filthy. The water quality seemed suspect, so we used bottled water, and although tea was provided, there was no kettle. Water damage to the ceiling had caused the light fixture to break. The mattress was so badly broken it was impossible to sleep on. We had to take one from another room, which meant another guest got stuck with the broken mattress.

A nice place with lovely views and a natural setting, not far from Kruger National Park’s Punda Maria Gate. There’s a good restaurant, and families and friends can visit. You can also book meetings in the conference hall.
