I can't recommend this place. We were robbed on our last night, after staying there for 41 nights. There was no forced entry, so it must have been an internal robbery. We also had repeated hot water and geyser problems. The cabins and rooms we rented for 41 one days in July 2020 weren't ready when we arrived on 1 Dec. The Lapa and communal kitchen had no usable workspace, water or cupboards. Baboons took our belongings almost every day, and the facilities weren't set up to deal with that.

This little cabin tucked into the forest was such an amazing place to stay. Waking up surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature felt wonderful. If you want some peace away from the noise, I’d recommend it. We’ll definitely return!

After the long drive from Joburg, we arrived to find the place we’d booked was full. We couldn’t stay in the guest house or log cabin as planned, and were put in a room without breakfast for the same price. I couldn’t reach the manager for an hour. When he finally called back, he told us to take our things and leave. After the refund, we waited for him because of the way he’d spoken to my wife, but he never came out and hid behind WhatsApp. Antlers lodge won’t see me again.

It’s a lovely, quiet and serene place. It would be nice if they supplied basic kitchen dishes and cleaning supplies.

The place is dirty and falling apart, and it hasn’t been looked after. The hosts seem to care more about partying than the guests or the property. They’re rude and obnoxious, and treat the staff terribly. Avoid.
