We came for the brewery tour and gin tasting, and Marius was great. We learned quite a bit from him. I’m not much of a gin person, though I did find a couple I liked, and the tasting itself was pretty cool. The place is beautiful, with lovely views and plenty of nice spots for pictures.

The wedding stay was a horrible experience. We were there as part of my son’s wedding group, but even the basics fell short. Our room got just two coffee sachets over three days, the toilet was unhygienic, and the bathroom floor became dangerously slippery when wet, with no precautions in place. There were no visibility markers on the glass either, which was a real safety concern. At the restaurant, we had poor service twice, and the staff seemed disengaged. We raised the issues with the on-site management and the owners. At first they accepted that service wasn’t good enough and said they would improve, but later insisted they had delivered what was agreed and didn’t take responsibility for what actually happened. I expect they’ll answer this with those same promises. The couple were understandably embarrassed by how their guests were treated. From this visit, I’d caution anyone expecting cleanliness, safety, and attentive service against choosing this venue. To be clear, we never asked for a full refund. We asked to be treated fairly. They kept the deposit for the broken glass pane, which they admitted didn’t meet regulations. Even after realizing BH was in the wrong, they didn’t return the deposit, let alone refund any portion of the fees paid.

The food was delicious, and the care they put into each person’s meal choice was impeccable. Black Horse GIN made a great welcome drink, too. We loved having our family wedding here. The chapel sits among the forest trees, and the venue is beautiful. Inside, fireplaces made the glass venue feel cozy when the evening got chilly. It was perfect for a winter wedding. We danced late, then headed home with happy hearts and a newly married couple.

Everyone in the family and among the friends was raving about the venue, from the bridal party accommodation and guest house to the chapel, reception area, and gardens where the wedding photos were taken. My daughter was married here on 25/1/2025, and I have nothing but praise for the management and staff who worked to make it memorable. I’d highly recommend Black Horse Wedding venue to anyone looking for the perfect venue.
