Kruger Riverside Lodge

The wildlife wandering through the lodge grounds was a special treat. We saw impalas and kudus, and even wildebeest passing by now and then. The meals were excellent and better than we expected, with wine included at dinner. Esti took such good care of us during our three nights at Kruger Riverside Lodge in Marloth Park. She made sure we were comfortable, and the lodge arranged all our safaris and game drives seamlessly. Devon, the resident safari guide, made every drive exciting and informative. His passion for the work really came through. We had a fantastic experience from beginning to end and would gladly return to Kruger Riverside Lodge.

Kudus and warthogs sometimes grazed nearby while we had dinner, which made the evenings feel magical. The meals, including breakfast, were better than we expected, and the tours came with delicious lunch boxes. The staff and management were genuinely caring, friendly, and attentive. After we came back from a hike with muddy shoes and left them outside our room, they were cleaned and put back in the same place by morning. We hadn't asked. The rooms were spotless, with soft, fresh-smelling towels, and everything felt flawless. James guided our safari, and I can highly recommend him. He's like a walking encyclopedia and clearly loves wildlife. I also recommend Roger’s night tour. He's knowledgeable and shares fascinating things about nature and Africa. You can feel the care and passion that goes into hospitality at Riverside Lodge. We enjoyed our stay and finally had a chance to relax after some less comfortable moments while travelling through Africa.

We woke to fresh air from the crocodile river and had kudus, impalas, and zebras right by our doorstep. Esti and the whole crew were so nice, and our game drive with Devan was awesome. He was kind, brave, and funny. Such a great vacation.

Dinner brought everyone together at one table, and dessert by the campfire each evening made for a special atmosphere. We even spotted animals while eating. The food was delicious, too. The hotel was spotless, modern, and felt safe. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and made our honeymoon unforgettable. Estie was especially kind and warm. She even packed us a delicious lunch box for our 5:00 a.m. safari, which we really appreciated. Our safari guide, Bertie, was fantastic. He knew so much about the animals and made the drive exciting and fun. This was probably the best hotel I've stayed at, and I've stayed at many. Everything felt perfect, and we'd definitely come back. Hopefully we'll spot the rhinos we missed this time!
