While we were asleep, someone entered the lodge between 2 and 3 am and stole cell phones, money and other belongings from two of our rooms. Another room was robbed at the same time, and a guest was robbed again on December 25, 2025. The security is very poor.

After eight months of business trips to Nelspruit, I finally found somewhere that feels like home. Francolin Lodge is now my first choice for every trip there. It's centrally placed for getting in and out of town and visiting the surrounding area, and the reception team welcomed me warmly and were always ready to help. I expected an ordinary lodge room, but mine was far beyond that. It had an open-plan bedroom, a private balcony with a breathtaking view, and a workspace. Upstairs there was another bedroom with a desk and a view, which became my quiet mini-office. I also had a kitchenette, a well-stocked mini-bar and midnight snacks. The bathroom had a roomy bathtub overlooking the scenery, plus bath salts and creamy soap bars. The large, well-designed shower made mornings feel like a retreat. Breakfast was just as impressive, with lots of variety, delicious flavours and careful presentation. It really set a new standard for me.

We were passing through from Marloth Park on our way to Tambo airport. Eully welcomed us so kindly, and the hospitality was great. Breakfast was fantastic, and it was lovely to sit by the swimming pool.

We loved the peaceful feel and the decor, and the place looked great. Our family room was comfortable and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was great, and the service from check-in through checkout was a 10/10. Cindy was so patient and gave outstanding service, what a lovely lady. They met and exceeded our expectations, and I really can't fault them. We'll definitely be back. Five stars!

The food at Orange resturant was delicious, and the place itself is breathtaking. That liver starter e sa nšhaletše inong. The breakfast was one of the best, too. We also loved the beautiful pool area, and the pool was very clean, though I have to admit I'm no swimmer. Parking was easy for all five days. Our room had plenty of space, an awesome shower and a big bath. There's an honesty bar, but I'm a coffee person and enjoyed all the coffee and tea in the room. The bed was hard to describe, not bad or great, but we slept well. One thing to know: the Orange river room we booked doesn't have a bathroom door. The place was easy to reach from the N4. I'll leave it there until I go again.
