The team were great from reception through to the chalets, and I noticed the cleaning staff doing a good job. It was a lovely place to unwind and reconnect with nature. I’ll definitely return with my family.

The property is beautiful, and Kitty at reception was so friendly, though I think that was her name, sorry if I’ve got it wrong. I had a great stay and would come back. The shower head seemed blocked, though, and the drain was visibly broken. Please fix those. Some of us would rather shower than take a bath, lol.

Kitty really made an effort to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. The lodge is awesome, and the staff are friendly. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone.

The place itself is beautiful, but the way we were treated was upsetting. I booked the house for self-catering and paid the requested R20400.00 in full. I brought three pots with me and had asked for the lodge’s things to be moved somewhere safe. Still, Kitty accused us of taking pots. The cleaning lady was also rude. While our group of 18 women was getting ready for an event, she told us to leave because they wanted to clean, even though we spent about half the time cleaning up after ourselves and did the dishes. I also bought coffee, sugar, milk and other groceries for everyone. I brought a Nescafe bottle for the house and another for the event venue, but was then told their Ricoffee was missing. Kitty asked where I worked, who had paid for the stay, and whether the event company belonged to me. It felt like she couldn’t believe a black woman could afford it herself. My younger sister is now sick after Kitty poured water on the fireplace while she was asleep beside it. Being accused of stealing coffee when I’d bought Nescafe, and pots when I’d brought my own, was awful. Modimolle still has racial discrimination. God have mercy on us black people for being treated this way.
